Let your resume tell a story!

Words can be powerful, especially when you are telling a story.  Your resume is your best “story” of your achievements and abilities!

To truly highlight your abilities, you will need to focus on your achievements.  Here are some tips:

·        Instead of listing a job duty, show your accomplishment (i.e. – “Lowered turnover by 40% annually by …).

·        Use action words vs. statements! (i.e. ‘improved’ or ‘increased’ vs. ‘handled’). These will demonstrate that you do your job AND get results.

·        If you are responsible for multiple departments, don’t hesitate to list your achievements in all categories.  Employers are increasingly focusing on employee’s ability to multi-task.

In short, choosing how you word your resume can make you stand out as a top candidate!!
