3 Quick Tips to Create a Positive Outlook

This week Michelle Obama admitted she has been struggling to stay positive in our current times.  I think all of us struggle to remain positive at one time or another.  The pandemic has for some created anxiety and has isolated many people from their friends and family.

While it can be a challenge, affirming others in the workplace can greatly increase our productivity and create a domino effect on those around us. Following are some fail proof ways to improve your day:

1)     Even when we do not feel like it, give someone a compliment.  It breeds a positive atmosphere and is contagious.  A compliment is a great mood shifter!  It can immediately shift a negative mindset to one of positivity and job!

2)     Smile! Studies have shown that this improves our brain chemistry.  This can be challenging when we feel isolated, but it can be a game changer for your day as well as having a dramatic effect on those around us! In short, it releases serotonin that makes us happier.

3)     When we get frustrated, take a moment.  While this is counter-intuitive to some, it is ok to walk away and breathe.  Sometimes just taking a time out can help our perspective.  Additionally, that hindsight may change our view of the situation and enable us to respond more appropriately.

We are living in challenging times.  We can feel frustrated and isolated which makes our need to shift our mindset so important.  At CG Recruiting Services, we continue to be each other’s cheerleaders!  Compliments, smiles, and taking time to gain perspective are our mantras!  Kindness is also very important.  Send that quick note of thanks to someone who made your day better!  They will remember it and it can create a deeper connection!

In an uncertain world, these 3 reminders help us better control our environment and create a sustaining positive outlook.
